What is Cocos2D
Cocos2d is an open source 2D game framework. There are two versions, one written in Python and one written in Objective-C targeting iOS. We will use the second one, so that we can become the iOS gods.
How to put my hands on Cocos2D
Well it is really simple, and demands only a few things. First of all, you need a computer, that runs Mac OS, which contains XCode. I do not specify version of the OS and XCode, because you should always use the newest possible. It will not only provide you with cool features, but also your apps will be up to date.

- Download the newest version of Cocos2D from here – http://www.cocos2d-iphone.org/download
- Unzip it onto the desktop
- Open your terminal
- write “cd ” and drag and drop the folder you have unzipped from the desktop to the terminal
- Press enter and write “./install-templates.sh -u”
